In May 2015, Taylor Energy was awarded a grant from the California Energy Commission under their EISG Program.  The project title is “Syngas Process Development for Renewable-Methane Production.” The EISG Statement-of-Work focuses on proof-of-concept testing of a novel steam-hydrogasification method; whereas, the CEC program, PON-14-303, (discussed in a previous post) focuses on testing a more traditional autothermal gasification approach.
Note that the over-all EISG objective is production of methane-rich fuel gases. Whereas, the larger CEC program will employ a Pulse-Detonation-Engine (PDE) to generate hot-air used for autothermal gasification of Refuse Derived Biomass (RDB) to produce synthesis gases suitable for electric power generation or liquids synthesis using the modular Fischer-Tropsch methodology being developed by Ceramatec.
