Here we show at 10-Hz pulse-detonation burner firing into the base of a conical Jet-Spouted Bed. Because we want to observe the interactions between the biomass feed and the shockwaves, the system is operated with “ports open,” drawing in excess air. The point of view is 30-feet of the pulse-detonation burner looking down in side the gasification reactor.
